Sewage Leak Leads To Balboa Beach Closure: OC Health
The Balboa beach and ocean is closed until at least Saturday following a sewage leak beneath the pier.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A 1,000 foot stretch of beach alongside the Balboa Pier is closed Wednesday, due to a 300-gallon sewage leak pumping below the pierr, Orange County health officials said.
OC Health has closed the ocean and beaches on either side of the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, making the area off limits to swimmers, surfers and others for at least three days.
Ocean and bay waters are closed when an immediate health hazard is identified such as a sewage spill, OC Health said.
