Sewage Spill Prompts Road Closure In Downtown Laguna Saturday

Laguna Beach residents were warned to keep away from the affected area Saturday morning.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach residents were warned to steer clear of downtown Laguna Beach, after a sewage leak was reported late Saturday morning.

The leak was reported late Saturday morning in the area of 3rd Street and Forest Avenue, the city reported.

As of 1:57 p.m. Saturday, Forest Avenue was cleared to reopen to traffic. Nearby 3rd Street remains closed as Laguna Beach Public Works staff cleans up the spill.

Residents were urged to keep away from the area while crews address the situation. It is not currently known how long the process will take.

The city issued an advisory at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday notifying residents of the leak.
