Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested After Chase In Laguna
The man apparently led multiple police agencies on an on-foot pursuit through the Laguna Beach County Water District Wednesday.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A man was arrested in Laguna Beach after he stole a car and evaded police, the Laguna Beach Police Department said Wednesday.
Police officers were dispatched to the downtown area at 6:25 p.m. after a vehicle that had been reported stolen was stopped at the Wells Fargo on 260 Ocean Avenue.
The man ran from officers and then jumped a fence into the Laguna Beach County Water District, where several agencies including the Newport Beach Police Department and Orange County Sheriff's Department gathered to track him down.

He was ultimately arrested and is currently in custody. His identity was not immediately available.
The incident prompted authorities to issue a safety advisory to avoid the downtown area Wednesday evening.
