LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Recently, Laguna Beach's Student Resource Officer shared an LBHS senior's story, putting him in the spotlight for his ability to embody school spirit.

"Ayrton Garcia was the student in the spotlight this week. He exemplifies the 'Breakers Spirit,' and I want to recognize him for encouraging others, including me," Laguna Beach Police SRO Cpl. Cornelius Ashton said over Twitter.

"He's like a cheerleader for the school, but he has an ability to bring people together," Ashton said.

Having people in the stands cheering is "literally the best feeling ever," Garcia said in the interview. "I think everyone deserves to feel super welcome here."

When asked what he loves most about the school, Garcia had this to say:

"The thing I love most about LBHS are the students. It isn't one person in the stands; it's everyone, together that makes school spirit."
