SUV Crashes into Power Pole in Laguna Canyon Road

The road was closed Monday while crews attempted to repair the damage.

Laguna Canyon Road (state Highway 133) was expected to be closed for the morning commute after an SUV crashed into a utility pole, causing to topple, police said today.

The accident happened at 10:05 p.m. Sunday on the portion of Laguna Canyon Road called Big Bend, said Laguna Beach police Sgt. Eric Lee.

“No one was injured. DUI was not a factor. The 42-year-old driver was cited for a suspended license,” Lee said. The accident remained under investigation.
