Every Summer artists in Laguna and the surrounding area are getting ready for the opening of the art festivals: Laguna Beach Art-A-Fair Festival, The Sawdust Festival and the Festival of Arts. I'm scrambling to get paintings framed, prints matted, paint for my booth. I have to send out invitations to people for the opening night. (I'm in the Art-A-Fair). I can't forget to get a parking pass for the "Act 5 lot". Oh.. and remember the business license!! As I zip around town getting supplies and checking in on the gallery I'm in (The Watercolor Gallery) I am bending my neck to see where my banner might be hung this year. During the Summer months local artists display colorful banners all over town on the light posts. Now and then I'll see a fellow artist here and there, either at City Hall or at the Laguna Art Supply store and we'll exchange knowing glances. The most painful question is, "are you ready for the show?"! This year I'm showing several new paintings I've done of Laguna Beach. Its really a pretty awesome life being an artist in Laguna! I'm so grateful!!
