Traffic Light Out At Laguna Canyon & Highway 73: Police

The Traffic light is out at Laguna Canyon and Highway 73. Expect delays and proceed with caution.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Canyon 133 and Highway 73 traffic light was reported out as of 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

"A non-injury traffic accident was the cause of the traffic light outage," the police department dispatch operator stated.

According to Laguna Beach Police Department Sgt. Tim Kleiser, emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle traffic collision on Laguna Canyon Road by the 73 Toll Road at just before 1:15 a.m.

"A truck struck a power box for the traffic signals at the intersection of the toll road and Laguna Canyon Road, which caused the power for the signals to be lost," Kleiser said.

Caltrans workers have responded and are in the process of repairing the power box.

The exact cause of the collision is under investigation according to Laguna Beach Police Department. No time frame was given for when the traffic light would return to operational.

"Please remember to stop at the intersection," Kleiser said.
