Trio will jazz up first-ever Locals' Night at Okura
Popular local Victoria McGinnis Trio will debut tuneful Tuesday nights at elegant Japanese restaurant
Okura Robata Grill & Sushi Bar has announced that beginning April 21, every Tuesday will be Locals’ Night at Okura with local musicians. The popular Victoria McGinnis Trio will perform from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Okura dining room. The trio will perform jazz standards and original songs by vocalist McGinnis and bassist Jack Prather, with Lyle Rennick on piano. All-night happy hour will remain in effect every Monday and Tuesday with drink and menu specials.
Okura Robata Grill & Sushi Bar is Laguna Beach’s only sushi restaurant with a full bar, open seven days a week for dinner. Located at 858 South Coast Highway between Thalia Street and St. Ann’s Drive since October 2013, Okura’s 4,600-square-foot building has a dining room, lounge, and spacious 70-seat patio for nightly dining or private parties. Happy hour is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. daily with special pricing all evening every Monday and Tuesday. The extensive menu, created by executive chef Jin Heo – a member of peer-selected Best Chefs America – is a fusion of classic and original Japanese foods with Italian and American influences. Dishes include classic and original Okura sushi rolls, steak, ribs, chicken, robata grilled meats and vegetables, tempura, salads and desserts. One of the restaurant’s most popular features is the all-you-can-eat special for $32.95 per person. Okura has a sister location in La Quinta, established in 2005. Both eateries are owned and operated by the Jay and Sam Lee family. Phone: 949-793-4320
