Tuesday Surf Report

South facing breaks offering a few workable waves!

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well oddly enough we're seeing some really early season southerly energy in the water.  Now there's definitely not much size behind it, but some of the spots in Laguna that are typically pretty flat this time of year should offer a few fun waves at the right tide.

The conditions are clean and glassy early on, with a small to decent dose of south-southwesterly swell and not much northwest energy to speak of.  That recipe is offering some crumbly and kind of dumpy lines that are breaking close to shore at many spots early on, but should improve a little later as that tide goes out.

Most Laguna Beach spots are running about knee- to waist-high, with those south facing beaches pulling a few stomach high sets.

Taking a look at the tides ... at 7:00 this morning it climbs up to a 5.4 high, which will have many breaks pretty swamped or even shut down throughout mid-morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 0.5 low at 1:51 this afternoon.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees.  See ya in the water!

FYI...remember the County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain, especially near storm drains, river mouths and harbor entrances.
