V & T Ballet Performs Seven Beauties in Irvine

Award winning contemporary and ballet pieces performed on Saturday, June 27, 2015 are great family entertainment!

Golden State Dance Foundation (GSDF) is a non-profit junior ballet company for V & T Dance Academy located in Laguna Hills, CA. The V & T performers will showcase their talent in a variety of pieces representing classical and contemporary styles along with performing the ballet Seven Beauties. The Spring Showcase takes place on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 PM and Seven Beauties will be performed the same day at 7:00 PM at Irvine Valley College Performing Arts Center located at 5500 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA. The tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors and children for each show. The Spring Showcase and Seven Beauties combined two show ticket packages are $40 for adults and $35 for children and seniors.

The Spring Showcase will feature a variety of ballet and contemporary dances that won at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) regional and international competitions including the award winning contemporary ensemble piece, ‘Conjurer’, which placed top twelve internationally at the YAGP finals in New York. Sixteen of the performance pieces placed top twelve in their category at the 2015 YAGP regional awards and 13 of the performers went to New York to compete at the international finals in April.

The ballet Seven Beauties is set in a kingdom in Asia Minor one hundred years ago. This beautiful love story tells the tale of a prince who has come of age and is being forced to take a bride. He is charmed by seven beauties, six of them princesses from other countries, but only one, a poor village girl, holds the key to his heart. This dramatic story of true love is told through vibrant dance with exotic costumes. Some lighthearted moments include a food fight and petty thieves making off with vegetables stuffed in their clothes, it is the perfect show for adults and children alike.

Madeline Woo, V & T company dancer, will be dancing the role of Aisha in Seven Beauties. She has been awarded a full scholarship to join one of the most renowned ballet schools in the world, the John Cranko School, the official school of Stuttgart Ballet in Germany. Maddy placed in the top 12 in the senior division internationally at YAGP in the New York 2015 final round.

V & T Dance Academy, started in 2008, is owned by Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky. The studio has won numerous Outstanding School, Teacher and Choreography awards at many regional and international dance competitions. The goal of GSDF is to provide opportunities for Orange County residents to affordably experience high quality performing arts and ballet. Many of their students have been awarded scholarships or been accepted by prestigious ballet companies around the U.S. and Europe. V & T Dance Academy will hold a summer intensive program from July 6 - July 31, 2015.
