Vandals Mend Fences In Laguna Beach

A recent search for vandals by Laguna Beach Police Department officers led to more than just a confession.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — In late may, two unknown suspects were seen vandalizing the fence of the Thalia Surf Shop. After organizing a suspect search, those two suspects not only confessed, but made good by fixing what they destroyed.

"On June 5th, our two suspects did the right thing and notified the owner of the surf shop that they wanted to pay for the damages," Laguna Beach Police Department said in recent release.

The suspects also swung by the Laguna Beach police department and apologized to the Detectives who were actively working the case.

"In lieu of pressing criminal charges, the victim in this case will be sending them a bill to repair the fence," LBPD said. "Sometimes telling the truth and holding yourself accountable is a much better way to learn a lesson, than paying a fine or going to jail. We would like to thank our followers on Facebook who provided tips in this case, which ultimately solved the case and led to a positive outcome of this incident."

Laguna Beach Police Department reminds all that if you see something, say something. And if you do something, make it right.
