Video: Woman Trapped Overnight in Wrecked Car Down Toll Road Embankment

For hours, rescuers searched for the crash, eventually finding the woman trapped 200 feet down the side of the road.

A woman whose car tumbled down an embankment off the 241 Toll Road today was taken by helicopter to an area hospital.

Authorities spent nearly two hours trying to track down just where the car ended when her cell phone died after sending a signal from the Laguna Canyon Road area, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada.

Anaheim police initially took a call from the victim's husband at 8:47 a.m. saying she had been involved in a crash, but he wasn't sure where she was, Quesada said.

Around 10:30 a.m., authorities found the car off the 241, just south of the 241 Toll Road, Quesada said.

"Her cell phone was pinging at the Santa Ana (5) and the (Laguna Canyon Road) 133," Quesada said. "By the time we got the call and started searching for her the cell phone died."
