Infamous Youtube Diver Injured Jumping In Hotel Pool

8Booth, a youtuber who jumped into hotel pools and ocean waters across Orange County, was severely injured during his latest stunt.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The frequently masked but now completely outed Youtube diver "8Booth" was injured during his latest stunt and now faces charges for his actions according to police.

Anthony Booth Armer, a 28-year-old man known as 8Booth on Youtube, misjudged his latest illegal jump into the Pacific Edge Hotel pool in Laguna Beach and severely injured both feet according to his GoFundMe page.

The Laguna Beach Police Department stated that Armer, a Laguna Niguel resident, faces charges for diving into pools and ocean waters in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach was allegedly at it again in Laguna Beach last week, police said Tuesday.

The Laguna Niguel resident is accused of posting several videos on YouTube, using the alias "8 Booth," of himself jumping off private rooftops and cliffs into the ocean or swimming pools in Laguna Beach, Kleiser said.

The latest shows Armer jumping from the roof of the Pacific Edge Hotel, 647 S. Coast Highway, at just before 8:30 p.m., Dec. 28. There, he severely injured both feet during the misjudged, feet-first jump, according to Laguna Beach police Sgt. Tim Kleiser.

"A hotel employee helped get Armer into the arms and into the car of a woman friend, who had also jumped into the pool," Kleiser said. "Armer declined the employee's offer to call an ambulance for him and the pair left."

The social media diver has established a GoFundMe page to aid in his paying for hospital expenses, according to the site. He is hoping to raise over $100,000 on the social giving platform.

The police account is a patchwork of evidence from the hotel's security cameras and Armer's alleged postings on social media, according to Kleiser.

In one GoFundMe photo, Armer appears to be showing off broken feet with rods in them to help the bones heal, Kleiser said. Patch declined to post that photo due to its graphic nature.

Armer was previously charged with two counts of unauthorized entry of a dwelling and one count of trespassing with the intent to interfere with business, all misdemeanors. All of his stunts are well documented on his Youtube page, which has over 77,000 subscribers. Most of his videos have been viewed over 1,000,000 times.

In one video, Armer is seen jumping from the roof of a condominium complex into a swimming pool, where he nearly struck another swimmer, Kleiser alleged. No one was hurt in that incident, he said.

Armer allegedly vaulted over a retaining wall on July 21 into a private residence in Laguna Beach, where he got up on the roof without the homeowner's permission and jumped into the ocean near Table Rock Beach, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Armer allegedly got up to the fifth floor of the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach on Sept. 29 and jumped into a gated, guest-only pool. He allegedly jumped from the roof of Newport Towers, a private residential building on West Coast Highway in Newport Beach, about 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 and jumped into the harbor waters, prosecutors said.

8Booth stated on Youtube and his GoFundMe page that jump #8 "destroyed him," and the GoFundMe page shows images of feet that appear pinned and bandaged, there is no mention of legal action he is currently facing.

"I am still in the hospital," Armer wrote on his GoFundMe, "I'm just seeking a little support to keep doing what I'm doing or else I'll be working the rest of my life to pay this off."

As of this report, he has raised $1,500 in two days.

While friends and fans of the jumper have left supportive messages, others are not so kind.

"This is why so many kids think they are invincible and do these stunts...because of idiots like this," Maureen Green stated in comments. "This video came through on our internet news page and as I watched to the end and saw his feet...an old adage ran through my head...think before you jump! The video was quick but the pain in his feet will be a constant reminder."
