3-Car Crash Kills 1 In South Orange County

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — A person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in San Clemente Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at around 6:35 a.m. on the northbound freeway at El Camino, authorities said.

Officers said witnesses reported that a man was lying on the freeway next to a vehicle.

A representative from the county's coroner's office was dispatched to the scene at 6:46 a.m.

No further information was immediately available and the cause of the crash remains under investgation.
