A Dana Point Pinnacle: Cannons on List of Top Scenic Views

Great food and a great view put the restaurant, established in 1972, on a list of the nation's 50 best dining destinations.

Cannons Seafood Grill in Dana Point is one of the country's 50 best places to eat and enjoy a great view, according to OpenTable Reviews, an online service that helps diners find restaurants that best fits their dining occasions.

Cannons, which opened in 1972, is on a cliff overlooking Dana Point Harbor, a spot described in Richard Henry Dana's 1840 classic book Two Years Before the Mast.

"The winning restaurants on this list represent the best in destination dining," says Caroline Potter, OpenTable's chief dining officer. "Whether you're traveling to discover the beauty and local bounty of a new city or you want to experience the best of what's in your own backyard, these restaurants will transport you with awe-inspiring panoramas and food to match."
