Estranged Husband, Wife ID'd In Fatal Valentine's Day Stabbing

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A 62-year-old man was behind bars Tuesday on suspicion of fatally stabbing his estranged wife in San Juan Capistrano, police said.

Stephen Anthony Demora was accused of killed 59-year-old Debora Jean Demora of San Juan Capistrano on Valentine's Day Saturday.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to the domestic dispute at about 6:30 a.m. that morning in the 26000 block of Laurelwood Lane, police said.

Deputies found the victim suffering from stab wounds, and the suspect was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, authorities said.

The estranged couple lived at the residence where the stabbing occurred, deputies said.
