LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — It comes as no surprise that there are plenty of bird-watching opportunities in Laguna Niguel. The city's lush parks and vegetation spaces, scenic lakes and mountainous territory offer birds of all kinds plenty of vantage points.
But it's still pretty rare to spot a bald eagle in the middle of a local park.
Laguna Niguel resident Dan Greenwood had a special encounter with a bald eagle this past weekend at Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
According to Orange County Outdoors, while some bald eagles do call Orange County home, they are generally known to spend most of their days perched in trees.
