'Arches To Heaven' High Above Dana Point Harbor: Photo Of The Day
This dreamy photo shot by an Orange County photography captures the old beauty of Dana Point.

DANA POINT, CA — For decades now, curious hikers and nature lovers have been wandering along Bluff Top Trail in Dana Point to find their way to the Dana Point Arches.
The arches stand high above the Dana Point Harbor, and one can find their way to the arches by following Bluff Top Trail, near the end of the Street of the Amber Lantern.
Orange County photographer Tyler O'Neil snapped this photograph of the arches while visiting the venturing out in Dana Point this week.

The end result is something visually magnificent. Tyler was able to capture both the natural beauty of the arches overgrown with vines and greenery, and the vibrant sky that glows cotton candy pink-and-blue.

The arches have been standing for almost one-hundred years, and are remnants of Dana Point Inn, a project built by 1930's real estate mogul S.H. Woodruff. While construction for the project continued, the stock market crashed and the Great Depression ensued — halting construction and ultimately killing the project completely.
According to South Orange County Mom's Network, the arches were originally going to be windows overlooking the marina.
