Beautiful Lantern Bay Park Stair Mosaic In Dana Point Nears Completion

DANA POINT, CA — An Orange County artist is hard at work as she and her crew finish a breathtaking mosaic piece on the stairs of Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point.

Residents can be a part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lantern Bay Park Stair Mosaic on Aug. 16, and join Orange County artist and mosaic creator Mia Tavonatti in celebration of the piece.

The glass mosaic features 128 panels lined down the stairway of Lantern Bay Park. On each panel, colorful segments of a full glass mosaic reflect ocean blues and white foam. Up close, one can only see explosions of color — but from afar, one can make out the mighty motion of an ocean wave.

Residents interested in joining in on the ribbon cutting ceremony can stop by the glass mosaic at Lantern Bay Park on Aug. 16 at 4 p.m.
