Blood Urgently Needed In Dana Point: Blood Drives Near You
Laguna Niguel and Dana Point residents who donate blood during the month of May will have the chance to win a trip to Seattle.
DANA POINT, CA — As the seasons continue to change, the American Red Cross's need for donated blood remains the same.
"Type O negative blood donors are especially needed right now," an American Red Cross news release said. "Type O negative is the universal blood type and what emergency room personnel reach for when there is no time to determine a patient's blood type, in the most serious situations."
Residents who donate blood from May 1 through May 19 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice, the news release said.

In addition, throughout the entire month of May, blood donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game in Seattle, Washington.
Residents who donate blood between May 20 and May 31 will receive a free and exclusive Red Cross beach towel.

In Dana Point and Laguna Niguel, residents can schedule to make an appointment to donate blood here.
- May 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Marina Hills Recreation Center, 31461 Parc Vista W., Laguna Niguel.
- May 24, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 33501 Stone Hill Dr., Dana Point.
- May 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., South Shores Baptist Church, Forrest Werner IV & Hayden Werner Memorial Blood Drive, 32712 Crown Valley Pkwy., Monarch Beach.
