BLOG: Space Shuttle Endevour Flys to LAX Today

Space Shuttle, Endeavour will fly into L.A. like a bird, but we won't see it in Laguna Niguel.

NASA's space shuttle Endeavour will be flying into Los Angeles at about 11 a.m. today, if weather permits. The shuttle's journey to the California Science Center in Los Angeles, has been delayed because of poor weather between Houston and Florida.

The 155,000 pound shuttle which is attached to a Boeing 747 will make low passes over selected locations including Sacramento and San Francisco prior to its last landing at LAX.

Endeavour's first flight occurred in May 1992 and was the fifth, and last shuttle to be built. Its last mission was STS-134 in May 2011.

Endeavour is scheduled to be transported from LAX through Inglewood via oversize vehicle carriers and through the streets of Los Angeles and on to the museum in early October, where it will be permanently on display.

Will we see it here in Laguna Niguel? Unfortunately, probably not. But once it's at the museum, you will be able to see it up close and personal.
