BLOG: Obama/Romney Debate: The Real Numbers

Debra Campbell, a Laguna Niguel blogger, takes a look at the numbers connected to Obama and Romney after their first 2012 debate.

We have experienced the first presidential debate between incumbent Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney. The media will declare the victor and sort the spoils of this one. Many Americans seem to have made up their minds on the choice for the next four years, though there are still some undecided and more who will switch and change their minds over the course of the next month. Much is still to be discovered and disclosed.

I have chosen to put a different view on these two candidates…an energetic view-point at that. According to Physics, everything in the universe is energy and the description of that energy actually comes down to numerical equations.

People can be affected by numbers and patterns. We may have numbers that reoccur in our lives such as phone or house number patterns. Sometimes we may see certain number over and over such as 11:11 or 228. Statistics do affect our world. There are times when we can say it really does come in three’s.

Numerology is the study of how number and number patterns impact life, the individual and the world. This system has been studied for thousands of years. Pythagoras, the Greek philosopher and mathematician used isopsephy. This is where the individual letters of a word or name are added up to form one number.

Different forms of this were used in Kabbalah, some Latin studies as well as secret societies. Today numerology is used to help find the perfect day for a wedding, name for a baby or business and to chart life directions. I decided to look at some numbers for Obama and Romney.

Barack Obama
Obama seemed to be laid back and a bit tired in his debate performance. He actually is a working president. His last name gives him a number of 5. Fives tend to overextend themselves and take on too much at times. It is sometimes hard for them to say no, often they can over extend themselves. Fives are good with people, hard workers, and sort of multi-taskers. They are generally great at communication and able to get along with various sorts of people. They can make dependable CEO’s and business owners.

Knowledge and information are important to them. You can see these qualities as Obama has tried to build team work with people of opposing viewpoints and pushed education. It is difficult for fives to delegate sometimes. Overall their hard working, hands on drive usually gets a lot done. They must take care of themselves however.

Obama’s birthdate of August 4, 1961 gives him an additional set of numbers. Usually the number is added to one final digit except when it comes to 11, 22, and 33 first. These are called master numbers in numerology. People having a master number have a mission to bring about change of some sort to the planet. The president seems to be aware of this part of his identity. The burden of 11’s is they are often attacked and sometimes pushed to back down.

The 11 of Obama’s birthdate is further added down to a 2. Two’s like partnerships and working together. You can see this in Obama’s insistence on working things out with the the House and Congress. Two’s are romantic which is reflected in his outward love for his wife Michelle.

Mitt Romney

Mitt brought it on during the debates hurling some things that will inspire the fact checkers. He was amped and hyped up to stir the pot. Mitt’s last name gives him a number 9 vibration. Nines are agents of change. They bring transformation just by being in a situation. The change can be either positive or negative but it causes things to shift. They have high visions and goals.

Nine’s have a hard time standing still. They make things happen. As this transformation energy can be intense and disturbing the 9’s may draw resistance from others. Sometimes they are attacked as well for the pot stirring frequency they carry. Nines tend to be creative, motivated and charged up. Nine’s have the ability to see both the forest and the tree for both short and long range plans. They could develop a chip on the shoulder or a ‘let me show you attitude because of people resisting them. This is seemly what Romney brought to this first debate.

Interestingly for Mitt his birthday of March 12, 2012 gives him a number 9 birthday number. So he has all of these qualities of transformation doubled up. It could give him a lot of drive but the two 9's could also oppose each other and overload him causing him to go in circles with choices and viewpoints. This added to the fact that he is Pisces signified as two fish swimming in opposite directions could present a challenge of focus or staying on track.

Summary

Obama’s number’s 5, 11 and 2 give him vision and an ease with working with people and implementing practical strategies. The 11 puts a lot on his shoulders to be an inspiration and a game changer for much that has been going on in the world.

Romney’s double 9’s make him a firebrand and an instrument for shifting ideas. Nines as well are here to bring about change. The two nines will challenge him to stay on board and see the changes through before moving on to something new.

Our Choice

The key is really is related to the numbers in regards to what you see as the character of these two men and where that individual resonance will cause them to lead the country and indeed the rest of the world.

This is an important election. We stand in a balance of deciding what we want for our future. Do we want war? Do we want economic prosperity? Do we want greater balance and compassion between all people on the earth? These are the questions for us to consider. The key is to see with your heart which man is really going to bring about what you believe will make this country better. Me I still want flying cars like George Jetson.
