The Rise of Honey Boo Boo
Honey Boo Boo beats out the President....no, this isn't a joke

Thursday, September 6th, marked the end of both the Republican and the Democratic National Conventions. Both were great in their own right, no matter what affiliation you have. All involved gave rousing speeches and did their very best to corral backing for the upcoming elections.
Now, there were also a number of other things being broadcast all over televisions and computer screens across the nation at the same time. The Republican National Convention was actually vying for viewers on Wednesday, August 30th, as it took a back seat to another show.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo!

Even Mitt Romney and his band of cronies couldn’t outduel the 7 year old from the national spotlight. This little charismatic, self proclaimed “redneck”, stole the show on this particular night. When you beat out the Republican Presidential Candidate himself, then you’re going to be talked about; a lot.
Social Media was going crazy after the TLC’s newest reality show raked in a whopping, 2.9 million viewers with its fourth ever episode, compared to the RNC at around 2 million viewers. The show is a spin off from the networks ever popular and controversial show, Toddlers & Tiaras. Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson appeared on the show as a frequent contestant in pageants. She is far from the ‘normal’, everyday 7 year old that you would associate with child beauty contests. Her unique family dynamic and outspoken personality has made her an overnight sensation.

If you think that’s impressive, then you’ll love the fact that in her second episode, coincidentally coinciding with the Democratic Republic Convention on Wednesday, September 5th, Honey Boo Boo stole viewers again, in an even bigger way.
Her show took place during the National Football League season opener that saw the New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys. It was reported that even between these two powerhouses, that essentially make up the majority of what the U.S population lives for, sports and politics, they were locked in a three way tie for viewers. Each saw roughly 2.4 million people tuning in.
Now, some have called for the newest reality television show to be taken off the air for a multitude of different reasons. Some say it’s exploiting the children involved, some say it gives false representation of people who reside in Georgia, among other things.
Call it what you want, this little girl and the empire she is rapidly building, is creating a huge splash in the world of Business Development and Social Media Marketing. This mini entrepreneur has coined phrases, trended worldwide on Twitter and become America’s most famous beauty pageant contestant, all before the age of 8. That’s impressive, any way you look at it.
I can only imagine just how far the rabbit hole goes with Honey Boo Boo. She’s already got her hands in everything. She’s a role model for little girls all over the nation. We should all be scheduling Consulting meetings with her, to discover her secrets.
She’s wise beyond her years, as much as it pains me to say so. You simply cannot deny just how influential and successful this little media mogul is.
