BLOG: Where Were You on Sept. 11, 2001?

Sept. 11, a day that changed all of us.

Do you remember were you where on the tragic day of Sept. 11, 2001, when the planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers in New York?

I had just finished gasing up my sailboat called "The Irish Tinker" at my slip in Dana Point harbor at sunrise. I was wearing my Walkman radio, and walking up to the entrance gate when I heard the news. The first plane had just hit.

While driving my car to the for coffee,  I heard the news of another plane, just a few moments late. In sorrow, I continued my plan to go to Catalina Island for the week.

When I arrived at Avalon, it was as if no one was aware what had happened in the Big Apple. After the third day, I sailed to the other harbor called: "Two Harbors."

At the outside bar, the television played the visual of the planes crashing into the towers over and over again.

I decided to return home a day early. I heard later on that an attorney conference group from NYC was at the in Dana Point. Next day, all the attorneys returned back to NYC, cutting their trip short.

I will never forget ...

Where we you when the world changed forever, Sept. 11, 2001?
