Brush Fire Erupts Near South OC Beach Friday: OCFA

DANA POINT, CA — A brush fire was reported in South Orange County Friday afternoon amid sizzling temperatures and a heat advisory across the region.

The fire was reported at around 2 p.m. in Dana Point, near the hillside above Baby Beach.

According to authorities, as of 4:40 p.m. the fire had burned about a quarter of an acre and firefighters were succeeding in stopping further progress.

No evacuation notices have been issued, but residents were urged to stay vigilant and avoid the area of Green Lantern, Cove Road and Dana Point Harbor.
