Candy Cane Lanes Return To The Streets Of Dana Point
The annual Dana Point holiday home decorating contest has begun. Will you enter your home to be a part of the festivities?
DANA POINT, CA — It's November, Dana Point. Depending what side of the holiday spectrum you lean toward, you're either filling your house with harvest-themed decorations in light of Thanksgiving, or digging out the holiday decor for the December festivities (either that, or you're holding onto your Halloween props because the spooky season came and went far too quickly).
If you're already pulling the holiday trinkets out of storage, you are in luck. The City of Dana Point just announced the return of Candy Cane Lanes 2021 Holiday Home Decorating Contest. The contest is hosted by the Dana Point Youth Board, and starting this week, Dana Point residents can enter their home in the contest for a chance to win some pretty cool prizes and yearlong bragging rights.
The contest takes place on Dec. 20 through Dec. 23. Throughout this time, the Dana Point Youth Board will send representatives to visit the participating homes and judge them for best overall, most creative and best use of a theme.

Prizes for each category are: $300 (best overall), $200 (most creative) and $150 (best use of theme). Winners will also receive a sign to proudly display on their front yards and gift cards to local Dana Point businesses.
Residents are encouraged to enter their decorated homes to be featured on the Candy Cane Lanes map published on the city's website and social media. To enter your home, all you have to do is email Monique Leon at mleon@danapoint.org or call 949-248-3507.
