Christmas Tree Pick Up In Dana Point And Laguna Niguel

Take off your tinsel! it's time for Christmas tree recycling in Orange County.

DANA POINT, CA — Is that tree looking a little dry? Many Christmas trees were reported as dead within days of display, according to many Orange County residents. Now that Santa has come and gone, that tree looks less festive and more like a fire hazard.

If you're ready for Christmas tree recycling, CR & R has your back. Your tree can be picked up curbside starting this week. Remember, following the Christmas holiday, CR&R is on holiday schedule, with your trash pickup the day after your regular pickup day.

CR&R has stated that they will be picking up Christmas trees from residential customers, curbside, on your service day over Christmas and New Year holiday weeks.

"Trees need to be placed out before 6 a.m., free of ornaments, tree stands and no plastic bags," they stated over Facebook post to customers. "Trees that are larger than six feet tall must be cut in half."

Residents can place their tree in the green waste cart, which is the preferred method of pick up, or at the curb. Flocked trees will need to be placed in the trash as they cannot be recycled.
