Laguna Niguel City Council Agrees on Sidewalks, Traffic Signal Maintenance
On October 18 the Laguna Niguel city council met and agreed upon new contracts to reduce tripping on city sidewalks in high trafficked areas

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — On Tuesday Nov. 1, the Laguna Niguel City Council met again following last meeting's progress regarding city maintenance contracts.
At the Oct. 18 meeting, agenda items were agreed upon, relating to traffic signals and repairs to area sidewalks.
The council decided upon Siemens Industrial, Inc. to provide preventative maintenance services on the city’s traffic signals, departing from their contract with Computer Services Company for the past two decades.

Laguna Niguel Councilwoman Elaine Gennawey asked that Public Works consider neighborhoods with high senior populations be considered as a possible priority.
An $80,000 sidewalk repair contract with Precision Concrete Cutting was agreed upon by Laguna Niguel city council.

The three year contract will focus on preventing injury to pedestrians, especially elderly citizens, through the repair of Laguna Niguel's damaged sidewalks with first priority near schools, heavily trafficked areas and commercial areas will be first on the agenda.
Other items included a discussion with the Director of the city’s Parks and Recreations Department, Alison Giglio, who shared updates on how Parks and Recreation Commission and Senior Citizens Committee would add an instructor to aid seniors with computers.
The next scheduled meeting is 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at 30111 Crown Valley Parkway.
