Cockroach Infestation Shuts Down Surfin' Cowboy
Health inspectors allowed the Capo Beach restaurant to reopen later the same day. Some food exposed to pesticides had to be discarded.

A cockroach infestation closed down the Surfin’ Cowboy for a day last month.
An inspector with Orange County Health Care Agency visited the Capo Beach restaurant, at 34235 Doheny Park Road, March 12.

“Today, one (live) roach was found under the two-compartment sink and two (live) roaches were found at the top of the door hinge of the two-door under counter prep cooler,” the inspector wrote in a report available online.
The inspector returned to determine that the roach problem had been resolved, but then discovered that uncovered foods was exposed during the pesticide treatment, according to the report. That food was discarded.

The restaurant was later allowed to reopen that day.
