Cold Case Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested In Laguna Hills
Deputies responded to an area hotel on a domestic disturbance call, & arrested the husband on an outstanding warrant from 15 years ago.
LAGUNA HILLS, CA — Officers in Laguna Hills responding to one call ended up making an arrest on a 15 year outstanding warrant this week.
A domestic violence incident between a 36-year-old man and his wife in Laguna Hills led to his arrest on charges of molesting a child some 15 years ago, according to an Orange County sheriff's Sgt. Dennis Breckner.
Juan Ramon Escobar was arrested Monday after sheriff's deputies were sent to a Laguna Hills hotel, Breckner said.

Upon further inspection, Escobar was linked to a warrant charging him with molesting a 10-year-old child in February 2004 and June and July 2005, Breckner said.
The child was "known to him," Breckner said. No further details of their relationship or the gender of the victim, who was allegedly molested in several locations in south Orange County, was given.

Escobar is charged with eight felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, according to court records.
It was not known if charges were also filed in the domestic disturbance case.
He's being held without bail pending arraignment scheduled for Aug. 21, according to jail records.
