Dana Point Film Festival Announces 2024 Dates: What To Know
Residents who attend the second annual festival will enjoy documentary filmmaking focused on marine life and surfing.
DANA POINT, CA — The Dana Point Film Festival is returning to South Orange County for its second year, and residents were urged to mark their calendars for May 2 through May 5, organizers said.
The second annual festival will celebrate marine life, surfing, and the community's relationship with the ocean. The festival will feature free and affordable ticketed screenings, stirring musical performances and discussions.
The festival, hosted by Endless Summer Events, will feature some of the most anticipated surf and marine life films and shorts, including:

- "Uncle Bully's Surf Skool"
- A film celebrating the power that one person has to shape a more hopeful future for the next generation. The film grants viewers "surf-side access" to Uncle Bully's unique approach on the water and reaching young minds with the power of being present. The film is also a visual documentary of Lahaina, Maui, and pre-and-post-fire disaster, as well as a story of resilience.
- "The Impossible Wave"
- Surfing made its debut in the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. It took one man 27 years to get it there. This is the story of Fernando Aguerre's quest to put the sport of surfing on the world's biggest stage.
- "SEND KELP!"
- A story of hope, eco-hope, about a "seaweed nerd" with ambitions to help save the world by starting a kelp farm – an ambitious challenge made epic without prior knowledge or experience.
