Dana Point Harbor Construction Begins In Marina: Report
After decades of plans and discussion, the long-awaited renovation for the Dana Point Harbor is underway.

DANA POINT, CA ā Renovation at Dana Point Harbor has finally begun after more than two decades of discussion and planning, the Orange County Register reported.
Construction crews are currently onsite, and the demolition of deteriorated docks between Baby Beach and the Island Way bridge is underway. The work is the first step in a 17-phase overhaul that is planned to last five years, with work being done in the marina and the outer basins of the harbor, according to the report.
The work is projected to cost about $100 million.

The cranes and construction crews are owned by Bellwether Financial Group, one of three development groups working together as Dana Point Harbor Partners for the overall renovation of Dana Point Harbor. The four groups secured the renovation project in 2018 through a 66-year lease from the County of Orange, according to the report.
The overall cost of the harbor's renovation is projected to be around $400 million.
