Dana Point Harbor Receives Ocean Water Warning

There is an ocean water warning given today at Baby Beach and Dana Point Harbor by the OC Health Care Agency.

DANA POINT, CA — A high level of bacteria at Dana Point Harbor and Baby Beach prompted the Ocean Water Quality agency, OC Health Care, to alert the public.

"Bacteria levels exceed health standards at both Baby Beach and Dana Point Harbor," the OC Healthcare Agency stated over Twitter.

When the ocean water bacteria levels exceed state health standards, contact with the wtaer may cause illness, according to the Ocean Water Protection Program Health Care Agency website.

Dana Point Harbor Beach and Baby Beach is just off of Dana Point Harbor Drive, in Dana Cove Park.

The Ocean Water Protection Program cites that Baby Beach at the middle of the swim area is sampled weekly.
