Dana Point Hosts Drive For Prescription Take Back Day
Time to clear out the medicine cabinet, Dana Point. Old prescriptions can be dropped off at a site near you Oct. 23
DANA POINT, CA — Over 60 percent of teens in the United States report their home medicine as their source of drugs, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. National Prescription Take Back Day is a day meant to bring awareness to this statistic, and the Orange County Sheriff's Department will hold a prescription collection site in Dana Point on Oct. 23.
All residents with unneeded prescription medication are encouraged to drop off expired or unwanted medication anonymously, safely and free of charge. The collection drive takes place at Dana Point City Hall, 33282 Golden Lantern, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Prescription medication is all that will be accepted, according to the flyer — the collection site will not take marijuana, sharps, liquids or pressure canisters. Residents with questions are encouraged to call (714)-647-4133.
