Dana Point Woman’s Club Holds FAM Food Drive

Dana Point Woman’s Club (DPWC) hosted Family Assistance Ministries (FAM) CEO, Elizabeth Andrade at its October general meeting held at the Club’s historic Community House building on San Juan Avenue in Dana Point.

DPWC members generously contributed food, diapers and personal care items that weighed in at 562 pounds. These in-kind donations, plus members’ charitable cash gifts of $675 allowed the Club to donate approximately $1,500 to help South Orange County’s needy families. Co-President Karin Marsh created a beautiful Hallowe’en themed buffet for the event which was attended by over 30 Club members.

Just a few of the in-kind donations made to FAM by DPWC members.

Ms. Andrade described FAM's effort to prevent and end hunger and homelessness in South Orange County. The organization served close to 42,000 people this year, distributing 5 million pounds of food, sheltering or housing 171 needy individuals, and providing over $6 million in rental assistance. She also encouraged members to join FAM's annual Hunger Walkon Sunday October 17th.
