Dana Point Woman's Club Hosts Successful Fundraiser
DPWC held a well attended fundraiser last Friday at the San Juan Hills Golf Club.

Dana Point Woman's Club held its spring fundraiser, "Taking Flight - Transforming Lives" last Friday April 1st at the San Juan Hills Golf Club. Guests enjoyed a 3 course meal and entertainment by Laguna Beach 2019 Entertainer of the Year, Jason Feddy, while perusing beautifully wrapped auction and raffle items.

Co-Presidents Betty Hill and Karin Marsh thanked guests for their support of the Club's Project Scholarship (benefiting local graduates entering college or trade schools) and Project Literacy (supporting Friends of the Library and literacy initiatives at local elementary schools). Notable guests including officials from the City of Dana Point, Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club and other civic and philanthropic board members, school district officials and others were introduced, but as Ms. Hill noted, "every one of you is notable because of your kind and generous support of worthy philanthropies in our community."
Ways and Means Chair and 3rd Vice President Marla Freeman was very pleased with the event. "From beautiful florals and lavish baskets decorated by member volunteers to little details like attractive menu cards, napkin holders and name tags containing the event's signature butterfly motif, everyone worked hard to make this a successful event. Like everything we do in the Woman's Club, this was a fun, group effort for a very worthy cause."
