Dana Point Woman's Club Hosts Successful Wine and Painting Event
DPWC hosted a sold out crowd at last Monday's "Girls' Night Out"

Dana Point Woman's Club 3rd Vice President and Ways & Means Chair, Marla Freeman, could not have been happier. "Our first "Girls' Night Out" was a huge success! Everyone loved painting their own masterpieces; raved about the food and wine, and gave us a resounding thumbs up." Last Monday's sold out event, held at Community House in Dana Point, was open to Club members and other South County women. Accomplished artist, Dana Vicari, led the group as they produced a fairly ambitious painting, "Laguna Beach viewed from Las Brisas."

The Club's Ways & Means committee prepared a beautiful spread of gourmet appetizers and wine for the 40 guests, who were asked to complete a survey rating the event - 91% gave it a 10/10 and expressed enthusiasm for similar events in the future. Club Co-President Betty Hill stressed the Club's dual role - "DPWC is an important philanthropy that works to empower the South County community. But we also exist to support camaraderie among South County women." She stressed that the event was not a fundraiser, but a fun "Girls' Night Out", priced to cover costs. "We wanted to encourage and celebrate female friendships in a fun setting, and I think we achieved that."
