Hedy Buzan is a prolific painter, print-maker, teacher and writer as well as an accomplished member of the local artistic community who is noted for her vibrant geometrics and landscapes which have been featured at both the Festival of Arts and the Sawdust Festival for decades. For this compelling collection, she challenged her creativity by using a unique artistic technique for each portrait, adding quotations, symbols and various media to reflect the character and accomplishments of each woman. In the words of DPWC Treasurer, Donna Childress, “Hedy’s artistic work was very inspiring, as were her enthusiastic comments lauding the significant achievements of these remarkable women, many of whom are little known. Our members were captivated by this entertaining and informative presentation and left with a deep appreciation for these amazing women.”

DPWC’s “Project FAM” was the featured philanthropy for January. Members contributed diapers and formula representing in kind donations of approximately $600 which were donated to Family Assistance Ministries in San Clemente.
