Dana Point Women's Club's (DPWC's) October 3rd luncheon and general meeting featured Susan Svoboda, author of "I Hate the Color Pink" who delivered an uplifting talk about her personal journey with breast cancer that members found "honest, informative, touching and funny."

DPWC members and others are dedicating donations to Susan G. Komen's research fund in honor of beloved DPWC member Leann Rodowicz who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer research. Leann bravely and pragmatically discussed her diagnosis with the assembled crowd, emphasizing her desire to advocate for others and her commitment to embrace life, joy and a fast return to her typical energetic health. DPWC is matching donations up to $3,000 and expects to donate $6,000 or more to metastatic cancer research by the time its First Vice President Judy Amiano embarks on the upcoming 3-day, 60-mile Susan G. Komen "More than Pink" walk in Leann's honor.
