Dolphins All Day In South Orange County: Photo Of The Day

DANA POINT, CA — Travelers aboard a Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching vessel were treated to a spectacular sight this week: a lively pod of bottlenose dolphin.

"There were pods of long-beaked common dolphin, including one nursery pod," Laura Lopez told Patch. "The young dolphin and tiny calves swimming alongside their moms delighted our passengers."

"A pod of 15-20 offshore bottlenose dolphin were also feeding just a few miles out and took time to surf the wake of the Ocean Adventures vessel," Lopez said.
