DUI Crash Leaves Thousands Without Power In South OC

The crash resulted in a downed power line, causing an outage for thousands of Orange County residents, reports said.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash in Dana Point resulted in a downed power line, leaving thousands of residents without power Sunday morning, The Orange County Register reported.

The crash was reported around 6:13 a.m. in the area of Stonehill Drive and Palo Alto Street, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

The downed pole initially knocked out power for 21,000 customers in Laguna Niguel. By 10 a.m. that Sunday, 6,600 were without power, the newspaper said.
