Iconosys now taking submissions for Pitch Your App!!! night in Orange County. Send your submissions for one of 10 spots to pitch your app to partners, investors, and the development community.
Laguna Niguel, CA, July 20, 2011 – Today, Iconosys, Inc., a leader in mobile safety communication and life-style applications, and in the minds of many the most notable Smartphone app development firm in Southern California, is very proud to announce its unveiling of an exciting monthly event titled "Pitch Your App!!!". Similar to the Shark Tank reality television show, this event will give entrepreneurs and other app innovators a platform for finding partners to assist in the financing, development, and creative process involved in building that “killer app.”
Iconosys has built nearly 600 Smartphone apps since its inception in 2009, including many successful titles that have been covered in the national media, such as Trick or Tracker™, which was mentioned on Saturday Night Live in October of 2010, and then again in January of 2011 on NBC. In attendance at the first planned event on August 17th, and available to provide pitch commentary and answer questions (in addition to handing out promotional giveaways to event attendees) will be Iconosys CEO and co-founder, Wayne Irving II, along with successful entrepreneurs and founders of some of the nation's best success stories including Josh Danson, one of the founders of Sobe. Sobe reportedly sold to Pepsi for $370M in 2000. Successful inventor, entrepreneur, and author of the book "Your Idea, Inc." Sandy Abrams has been chosen to mc the event.
The event is designed to give people/companies with compelling app concepts access to the potential resources developed by, and available through, a leading app developer like Iconosys.
“With nearly 80 percent of Internet traffic now traveling on smart devices, nearly 500,000 Smartphones sold daily on a global basis, and tablets now putting a noticeable dent in the PC market, app development has become the most compelling way for entrepreneurs to get their business ideas front and center into the mainstream of popular consciousness,” said Mr. Irving. “Mobile technology is growing at a rate that makes it simultaneously the vanguard of computing technology and a launching pad or platform for the almost seamless adoption of great ideas by a mass audience. These conditions have created a fertile garden for cultivating new and successful businesses, on both a domestic and an international scale, in a matter of weeks with the right resources. We are truly excited about this event, which puts those resources within easy reach for people and companies with great ideas.”
To participate and pitch your app idea at the event, please go to PitchThatApp.com to fill out the questionnaire, submit ideas and learn about the event's terms and conditions. Entrants are encouraged to include graphics or sketches with their submissions. Entrants are automatically invited with a guest to the event. Others who would like to attend the event without making a pitch can simply fill out an attendee form to be added to the RSVP list (without submitting an app concept). Seating is limited, and subject to special priority at discretion of Iconosys, the event coordinator.
5-10 apps will be chosen as winners and potentially offered an app development deal with Iconosys, an Iconosys partner, and/or an Iconosys financing partner, who will pay part or all of the cost of developing the app. Each presenter will have three minutes to setup and five minutes to present to a panel and crowd of venture capitalists, angel investors, fellow entrepreneurs and other business leaders.
"In the last year, we have positioned Iconosys as a mobile app powerhouse, combining speed to market, a sense of what the market demands and expects, along with an expertise in rolling out polished products that users love,” added Irving. “As a result, I am often approached by friends, Facebook contacts, not to mention complete strangers, asking for five minutes of my time so that they can pitch their app ideas. With this event, we can give everyone access to the resources they need, and we fully expect to find wonderfully talented and creative people and companies that we can add to the Iconosys family.”
