Firefighters Battle Laguna Niguel Fire At Mutli-Family Home

Smoke could be seen for miles after this apartment building caught fire in Laguna Niguel.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Orange County Fire Authority firefighters, and Laguna Beach Firefighters responded to a two story multi-family apartment building fire on Tuesday, an OCFA department spokesperson said.

Firefighters arrived at the multi-family residence on the 2400 block of El Pilar to find smoke pouring from an upstairs window, according to reports from the scene.

"There were no injuries and all residents exited safely," OCFA Capt. Tony Bommarito said. "Firefighters were able to hold the fire to one unit."

The fire began in an attic, he said. Crews continued to look for hidden fire and conducted salvage to protect personal property of the residents, he said.

Smoke was blowing toward Aliso Viejo, and was visible for miles, witnesses reported.
