DANA POINT, CA — No, that's not an optical illusion. Mother and baby Pacific White Sided Dolphins were seen by whale watching vessels over the weekend, to the delight of crowds enjoying the sparkling southern California weather.

Dana Wharf Whale Watching's photographer Lori Hespe took this very cute picture of a Baby Pacific White Sided Dolphin and Mom Sunday on the Whale Watching trip.

"We only see Pacific White Sided dolphins in the winter and spring months they are always here with the Gray Whales," she said. "They are beautiful dolphins a little smaller than the common dolphin."

Pacific White-sided dolphins are seen more often during the winter months when the water is colder.
