Get Engaged On Valentine's Day? Here's How To Get Married Quick In Orange County

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — Whether you've just gotten engaged or want to tie the knot right away, Valentine's Day gets amorous couples looking to tie the knot on or just after the most romantic day of the year.

Thankfully the Orange County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's Office is ready to oblige.

"Obtain your official marriage license either at the Old Orange County Courthouse in downtown Santa Ana or at the South County branch office in the Laguna Hills Civic Center or at our North County branch office in downtown Fullerton, or start the process with an Online Marriage License Application," the County Recorder stated over their website.

Civil non-sectarian wedding ceremonies are $28. Ceremonies can be performed at any of our three office locations by a Deputy Commissioner of Marriage.

A marriage license must be purchased prior to the ceremony. Both individuals must be able to read, speak and understand English. If not, the couple must bring a third party translator to have a ceremony performed. The department does not provide translation services.

No appointment is needed to get married, with ceremonies offered on a walk-in basis. But there is a cost involved. A civil wedding ceremony costs $35. A public marriage license costs $91, while the cost of a confidential license is actually slightly less, at $85.
