Crafters Invited to Show and Sell their Wares
Laguna Niguel, Calif. (May 2, 2016) – Local crafters are invited to show and sell their wares at the third annual "Tongues of Fire" chili cook-off fundraiser hosted by Faith Episcopal Church. In addition to hand crafted items created by local artists, the family fun day will include a heated chili competition with awards in four categories, plus lots of activities for kids. Adults will enjoy sampling craft beers from Stadium Brewery and wines from Four Lanterns Winery (Paso Robles) and Youngs Market Company. Live music, grilled hot dogs and brats, and a silent auction also will be offered. The event will be held at Faith Episcopal Church is located at 27802 El Lazo Road in Laguna Niguel (adjacent to the Ziggurat Federal Building) on Saturday, May 14 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Crafters may reserve space for $10 (free with a paid entry in the chili cook-off). Registration forms are online at faithepiscopal.org/event-items/tongues-of-fire/ Exhibitors are responsible for all applicable taxes, licenses and fees, but may retain 100% of their sales income.
"This is such a wonderful family day," said Geof Farnsworth, chairman of the event. "The competition is good-natured but all the cooks have a lot of pride invested in their creations. We're looking forward to sharing the creations of local brewers and crafters this year, as added attractions."
Families will enjoy kid-focused activities including a bounce house, fire engine tours and a visit from the firefighting team from Fire Station 39, face painting, and a gymnastics performance. Danny Lulu will provide live music. The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m., and concludes with an awards ceremony and drawings from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.
