Ghastly Sea Creature Washes Up On South OC Beach
A pale, mangled-looking sea creature washed ashore in the Dana Point area Saturday, SF Gate reported.
DANA POINT, CA — A nightmarish sea creature washed ashore in Dana Point on Saturday, frightening beach goers and reaping thousands of responses online, SFGate reported.
The image of the animal was originally posted onto Reddit, where it amassed thousands of responses. While the creature appears to have crawled out of some distant primordial pool, officials said that it's actually an unsightly type of Moray eel.
Moray eels are common throughout Southern California, California Department of Fish and Wildlife spokesperson Tim Daly told SFGate.
