Gloria Dei to Host Maundy Thursday Service
A service featuring Stations of the Cross, Anointing, and Holy Communion will be held at Gloria Dei Church, Dana Point on April 2nd at 6PM
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church is hosting a Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday, April 2 from 6 to 7 PM. This special service will include time for prayer and reflection, including an audio visual presentation on the Stations of the Cross, Anointing and Holy Communion.
“Maundy” or Holy Thursday, is a Christian feast during Holy Week that marks the beginning of the Paschal Triduum and commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Christ with the Apostles before His crucifixion on Good Friday. “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word “mandatum” meaning “commandment.”
In the words of Gloria Dei’s Deacon, Daneen Pysz, "you are invited to pray, read, reflect and receive God’s grace as you walk with our Savior and Lord through the most important events of the last 21 hours of His life.”
