Hey, everyone!

There are lots of good things happening around Aliso Niguel during this time of the year. The most exciting thing, though, is the Winter Dodgeball tournament.

Remember that movie Dodgeball with Ben Stiller? Well, it sparked a revolution. Usually twice a year, Aliso Niguel has an ASB-sponsored dodgeball tournament, which, sadly, is probably the second mostly high attended athletic event of the year. Only more people go to football games. But while everyone goes to football games just to be there, students attend lunchtime dodgeball games because, for some reason, we all really care. Socially it's just the thing to do. Dodgeball fever has run through the school.

The other fun part about the Winter Dodgeball tournament is that it is an opportunity for sports teams to compete in a neutral environment. My team is made up primarily of volleyball players, while the football, basketball, and soccer teams enter their own teams.

Rumor has it that this spring, ASBs from dodgeball powerhouses San Juan Hills, San Clemente and Aliso Niguel may have a tournament to decide which school has the best team.

The championship game for Aliso Niguel is Friday, and I'm sure the Pit will be just as packed as it was the opening day: to capacity. My team is still in it, so I hope we can pull out a victory. The baseball team is going to be tough, though.
