Horse Stuck In Ditch Rescued By Firefighters In South OC

A 10-year-old horse named Nala was rescued by firefighters in South Orange County after she fell into a ditch.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — A 10-year-old horse named Nala found herself in a sticky situation Monday after she lost her footing and fell into a ditch.

The horse was walking across a bridge at around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Nellie Gail Road and Buckboard Lane when she lost her footing and fell into a 4-feet-deep ditch, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

Firefighters responded and a large animal rescue was initiated with the assistance of a veterinarian, authorities said.

Nala was hoisted from the ditch with technical rescue equipment and was soon seen walking upright, according to a video shared by the OCFA of X, formerly Twitter.
